Helping to decrease the risk of Alzheimer's and helping to reverse mild to moderate cognitive impairment is one of Dr Hausman-Cohen's passions.

She has had a strong interest in the cutting edge science of cognition for more than a decade.

She has had a strong interest in the cutting edge science of cognition for more than a decade. It started with her interest in the MTHFR gene: a gene that helps to make important memory brain chemicals like norepinephrine (what ADD meds work on) and acetyl choline (what many alzheimer's medications work on). She quickly grasped this information and then began teaching other medical professionals and her patients.

Since that time, Dr. Hausman-Cohen has delved further into the science of cognition and has had the distinct privilege of being mentored by Dr. Dale Bredesen who is one of the world's premiere Alzheimer's researchers and thought leaders as well as the creator of the MEND protocol. Dr. Bredesen has shown how many of the factors involved in Alzheimer's are actually signaling proteins and that when the metabolic environment, including vitamin and mineral levels as well as inflammatory mediators are off balance, the brain begins to send a signal to pare down neurons instead of to build them…. AND that this process can be reversed! This protocol has been used to reverse Alzheimer's and cognitive impairment by addressing over 36 different potential risk factors for cognitive impairment.

Dr. Bredesen has referred Texas patients to Dr. Hausman-Cohen for help in implementing this protocol since meeting her in early 2016. For more information on the MEND protocol see MPIcognition.com.
